How Plant Nursery Owners Misguide YOU!!!

This gotta be the saddest reality-check for you.

But YES not all the nursery owners are your well wishers and it will not be wrong to say that "Sometimes your Best Bet for Keeping Your Plant Alive Might Be NOT Following the Instructions"

If you are doing everything that's mentioned on the plant instruction label that you get with the plant in grocery or hardware stores like Walmart and Costco but still your plant is shedding tears like something then presumably you are tricked.

The Plant Nursery Fraud: You might be wondering that why plants are all healthy at nurseries but soon after you bring them home, they die. :(

Now there are three things firstly, yes plants at nursery die too. They just take the plant off the display. The second thing is that they professionally do this so its obvious they know more than us. The last thing is that some nursery owners are so stone- hearted that they misguide you about a plant's needs and this way you over or under care for the plant and your plant dies and if you confront them about them about this they'll simple blame your watering frequency.

I'll tell you a story after which you will stop blindly following your 'nurseryman'.

I used to buy all my plants from this nursery and, I strongly believe that one should not repot a plant instantly after buying but when I used to buy plants to gift someone I used to do the sin of repotting the plant in the nursery and the worker in the nursery used to do it for me. To all the peeps I gifted a plant adressed that their plant is dying and I thought this is because they were new plant parents. After few days in the same nursery I saw a nice Peace lily plant and a good-looking planter. So, I asked the nurseryman to move the plant in that planter and trust me just after three or four days the plant was in miserable condition and I could see the plant in stress. STRANGE!

I have a decent experience with plants and I was doing most of the things right and still I could see burnt leaves and burnt roots. STRANGE!

And, on my following visit I saw the guy topping up his coco-peat heap with bags of Epsom Salt and Urea and this is the same batch of coco-peat he uses for packing and repotting plants. For all those who don't know what's wrong in this is that Urea and Epsom salt in toxic amounts results in burnt plant roots and burnt leaves. Simply Urea in excess is cyanide(poison) of plants. Obviously, he knew what he was doing because there were two heaps of coco-peat there and they use this one for repotting and all and they use the other heap for their use and this heap was not adultered at all. MYSTERY SOLVED!

The Big Stores Felony: The problems with such stores is you might even bring it home with a completely incorrect tag and incorrect care instructions because the plants that are carried at these big box stores are grown in bulk and mass marketed by wholesale nurseries that have a consignment contract, which leaves a lot of room for labeling errors and also some stores do this foul play on purpose so that you unalive your plant and this way they make you buy more plants from them.

I strongly suggest always and always do your research. There ain't no manuals for parenting a plant, so find what works best for you.
