Why You Should Gift Plants Over Flowers.

If you also are a fan of sustainable gifting like flowers and plants which is actually a very beautiful and rich gifting option. But is gifting flowers a environment friendly approach? Is cutting and gifting flowers' a selfish act? Do they mean as much to them whom you are gifting them flowers?

These questions are enough to bud out a doubt in your mind. And yes you are thinking right! We can improvise and make it better by rather gifting plants or like gifting a potted flowering plant to stand up to the bar.

PLANTS VS. FLOWERS AS A PRESENT.

Sustenance:

If we are talking about sustainability then why not about the sustenance. Though flowers look beautiful but we'll have to face it that they cannot maintain their charm for more than a fortnight.

We very well know flowers of any native place is nowadays available to us. That's because they are imported from countries across the globe and these prime exporters are South America and East Asia. Hellish carbon emission it is!

One can say that some houseplants are also imported. Yes, some exotic plants are imported but housplants are tend to be hardier whereas from the moment of harvesting of flowers. A clock starts ticking that they have to be transported at much faster speeds and in engineered conditions to minimise damage. Rest you are smart enough to understand this and give the score of PLANTS- 2 FLOWERS- 0.

Cost Effective:

A dozen of roses in a bouquet costs you around 500 bucks at least whereas you can get 10 miniature rose plant with around 4-5 flowers each in the same 500 bucks. Again PLANTS- 3 FLOWERS- 0.

Decor:

A flower bouquet will just give you a couple of Instagram stories whereas a houseplant will add to your decor. If you get a succulent you can place it on a windowsill and if you got a Fiddle Leaf Fig you can accomodate it in the corner of a room and make it interesting. 4:0

They Support Local Businesses:

While most of the flowers come from out of state and from other countries, you can get a potted plant from any nearby greenhouse or nursery, which in turn support local vendors. 5:0

We did not mention basic things like, plants purify air and flower bouquets are packed in single use plastics which obviously you do not appreciate but you anyways compromisingly keep a blind eye towards that.
